The fact that they are able to construct their superweapons (Nukes!) at a cheaper price AND put two starbases in one gravity well implies a "come and get me" theme. There are a handful of researches that kick in when you are operating within your own gravity well, so they are much more defensive-themed. TEC - Loyalists: These humans enjoy playing on their own home turf.

Also, don't underestimate the ability to ally with Pirates! If you're adept with aggressive strategies, TEC Rebels might just be up your alley. Along with the most offensively powerful Titan ship, these guys are a force to be reckoned with. Being TEC means you also have access to Pervasive Economy, meaning Credits will be easy to come by (and by extension of the black market, metal and crystal). You get 2 or 3 special researches under military that strictly upgrade weapon damage on ships. TEC - Rebels: Honestly, these guys are pretty savage.
